When Trump lands in Scotland for a four-day trip, he says, "great to be here."

At Prestwick Airport, people waved to President Trump. As he arrived in Scotland for a four-day private visit, US President Donald Trump declared, "it's great to be in Scotland." The US president was greeted at Prestwick Airport shortly before 20:30 by Scottish Secretary Ian Murray and US Ambassador to the UK Warren Stephens. Before the presidential motorcade left for his Turnberry resort in South Ayrshire, where he is expected to play golf on Saturday, Trump spoke with journalists. "I like your prime minister," he said of Sir Keir Starmer, whom he is scheduled to meet on Monday. You probably already know that he is a good man despite being slightly more liberal than I am. He concluded a trade agreement. "You know, they've worked on this deal for 12 years, he got it done - that's a good deal, it's a good deal for the UK," Trump continued. Additionally, the president stated that he was eager to meet Scotland's First Minister John Swinney and called him "a good man." Swinney has said that he will "basically speak out for Scotland." 0:26

Upon arrival at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, Air Force One Around 21:30, the more than two dozen vehicles of the motorcade arrived at Trump's Turnberry golf resort, flanked by ambulance personnel and vehicles from Police Scotland. A small group of protesters were in the way of the president's car, The Beast, as he got to the luxury hotel. After spending the weekend at Turnberry, Trump will travel to his second property in Aberdeenshire to open a brand-new 18-hole course at Menie. He told reporters that a late James Bond actor was important to the project. "Sean Connery helped me get the permits — if it weren't for Sean Connery we wouldn't have those great courses," Trump stated.
